Entertainment insurance specialist joins Symphony Stage to lead the firm’s music and media business with more than 15 years of contingency and M&A expertise.
DALLAS – May 7, 2026 – Symphony Risk Solutions, a national specialized risk management advisory, insurance brokerage, and human capital consulting firm, today announced that David Shotts has joined the firm as President of Symphony Music and Media, the specialty business within Symphony Stage serving music artists, touring productions, television and film productions, and business management firms across the entertainment industry.
Fifteen Years in the Most Specialized Corner of the Market
Shotts brings more than 15 years of insurance experience to the role, with expertise in contingency insurance and mergers and acquisitions insurance solutions. He progressed through senior advisory roles at national and regional brokerages, spending more than seven years focused exclusively on entertainment industry clients before joining Symphony Risk. His background spans all lines of property and casualty insurance, with particular depth in contingency programs for television and film productions, touring artists, and music festivals.
Shotts’ background also includes coverage programs for concert services firms – staging, lighting and sound, rigging, and production safety and security – rounding out experience that spans the full live event supply chain.

Serving Clients Across the Full Entertainment Spectrum
At Symphony Risk, Shotts will oversee service delivery for Symphony Risk’s Music and Media clients, identify transaction-related coverage needs on behalf of business management firms and entertainment companies, and lead the team responsible for placing and managing specialty risk programs. He joins Symphony Stage, led by Nate Mundy, which serves clients across music, entertainment, and wealth management.
