John Ryan
Chief Revenue Officer
John Ryan is Chief Revenue Officer of Symphony Risk Solutions, where he leads revenue and growth strategy across the firm’s specialty businesses. He joined Symphony Risk as a Senior Advisor in 2025.
John has more than 30 years of healthcare experience. As CEO of UnitedHealthcare Vision and a member of UnitedHealthcare’s Specialty Benefits executive team, he led one of the nation’s largest managed vision care plans. He more than doubled revenue to $1.2 billion and grew membership from 18 million to 26 million across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and private label markets. Before that, he spent 15 years as Senior Vice President and General Manager of UnitedHealthcare’s National Accounts Division. Earlier in his career, he was a principal at Mercer and Willis Towers Watson.
John is the Founder and President of Acuity Consulting & Advisory, which advises vision and healthcare companies on scaling operations, building leadership and strategic growth. He holds advisory and board roles with Eyesafe, Visibly, Retinal Protection Sciences and Flowly. He previously served on the boards of the National Association of Vision Care Plans, Holt International and Empower Health.
John holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and Syracuse University and completed executive education at Columbia Business School.
